Monochrome Inspired Nails

Hi today I have a monochrome inspired nail art as I keep seeing this trend everywhere but mostly because of this jumper which kind of led me to this idea. Hope you enjoy this as it is not fully a nail art but also a kind of review of the nail polish I am going to use but you will see what I mean. In case you wanted to know I got the earrings from New Look and the Jumper from Divadames.

First I applied black and white on my nails and then these nail polishes which are actually called crackle but here it says shatter. Everyone likes to buy expensive stuff as the quality is better and you can rely on it more but once in a while a budget product doesn’t do a harm. I actually like the George nail polish collection as they are really watery and thick so it spreads out quicker over my nails and I don’t have to apply it twice but it does finish quite quick because it is such a small bottle.

Still this ‘shatter’ nail polish is least of my favourites when I come to budget buying as the white one just looks like full of cloths and looks like a failure on your nails when it dries out so I wouldn’t prefer it to keep it too long on my nails as it starts to look like you have put paint on your nails. So after about 4-5 days I would remove this. Whereas the black one is a bit better in quality as it does show that crackle effect that you want on your nails. Still if you apply it too thick then you have to wipe it a bit off for it to dry but if you are looking to buy crackle nail polish then the black would be the best as the white looks horrible on your nails but again that is a matter of opinion.

Just in case you wanted to know which one I have applied on which one

The white crackle I have applied on the index and the ring finger and the black crackle on the other ones.

This trend of crackle has been going on for more than a year now but I think that you can keep reusing this as it just looks like you have put a lot of work on it while in actual fact it is just 2 coats on your finger. Someone said to me yesterday ‘it must have taken a long time to draw all the lines’ which was actually quite funny and I had to explain that I have used crackle on my nails.

Another design that I saw by someone and that you could try out was with a yellow base coat (preferably neon) and then black crackle. That seriously really looked good and may try that out myself actually.

I hope you enjoyed this little review and nail design.

I almost forgot Rimmel does crackle too and personally if you want to stick to higher prices and better quality then Rimmel would always be a very good choice.

Love Jazz
